Homemade Faluda Recipe | Falooda Recipe

Falooda or Faluda Recipe is a cold dessert popular in India. Traditionally made with Rose Syrup, vermicelli, Chia seeds (called Sabja seeds in Hindi) pieces of jelly, and milk!
My memories of this cold shake like dessert consist of a mere handful Sundaes(see what i did there?) with my father when he would take me outside and we'd eat all sorts of food and drink awesome shakes sometimes mango, and other times, this gorgeous rose syrup milk with vermicelli noodles and chia seeds. I used to ask for extra jelly, but the shopkeeper confused it for extra cashews instead. But since I know the recipe now as a (lets say) 40 year old mother of 2, I can add all the jelly I want!

(For 2)
Milk 1/2 ltr
Vermicelli noodles 1 cup boiled
3 to 4 tablespoon rose syrup
Rose jelly 2 tablespoon
Chia seeds or sabja 2 tablespoon
Dry fruit of your choice
Ice Cream - 1 to 2 scoops as per choice


1) Pour some water enough to drown the chia seeds and mix it let it rest for 15 minutes till it forms a jelly texture
2) Add the rose syrup to the milk and keep it aside after mixing
3) Boil the vermicelli noodles and let them cool down after straining.
4) now we have all the ingredients together. Shopkeepers keep these ingredients in bulk and prepare the recipe till this point. Now we assemble the ingredients.
5)  Add Half of the Chia seeds to one long glass(and now decorate the glass with some rose syrup)
6) Place half of the vermicelli noodles in this glass
7) Add jelly and finally pour the rose flavoured milk
8) Scoop it up with ice cream and garnish with cashews. You're done!
