Rava Ladoo Recipe

by - December 11, 2016

Rava Ladoo or Rava ke Laddu is a traditional Maharashtrian dessert. Which then became a popular Diwali sweet, which I actually filmed this video for, but unfortunately got to post this recipe now only. Presenting to you the delicious, easy to make, Rava Ladoo Recipe. Now you can learn how to make the rava laddu at home!

1 Cup Rawa/Sooji
2 tbsp Ghee (You can use 1/4th cup)
3/4th Cup Sugar (You can adjust sugar to your taste also)
10-15 Almonds
10-15 Raisins
1/2 tsp Cardamom Powder (elaichi)
1/4th Cup Water

Heat a pan and pour desi ghee on it.
Once the ghee is heated, add all your dry fruits to it; raisins, almonds, cashews and roast them.
When their colour changes, take them out.
There must still be some ghee left, add some more to it, and it should total to 2 tbsp.
Now add Sooji/Rawa to it. You can even use more ghee, but I make it in a slightly healthier way.
Now roast it on medium heat till it's colour changes and it doesn't smell raw anymore.
The colour usually changes after 1-2 minutes of roasting it.
Now add cardamom powder and mix it.
Now add your roasted dry fruits and mix that too.
Now add sugar and again, mix it!
Next, add boiling water to it, and mix that till sooji absorbs the water nicely.
Now, let it cool for 2-3 minutes so it's easy to bind it.
The batter should now be slightly cold. Take out little portions and bind them with your hand to make a ladoo shape.

And it's done! Enjoy.
