Tutti Frooti Cookies

Little Announcement- I reached 10,000 subscribers and 1,000,000 views on my youtube channel! I can't thank you all enough for the constant support and for appreciating my videos. This is a huge milestone for me and I hope I reach the other ones as well. I am so thankful that I am able to do what I'm passionate about and that people around me are so supportive of it.

Today, I am sharing another healthy version of an unhealthy dish. I am making Tutti Frooti Cookies but instead of all purpose flour, I'll be using flour! This is a very addictive snack, so eating the flour version makes me feel less guilty. Also, I'm very proud of the video of this recipe, it was shot in my dressing room (jugaad!) because there's amazing lighting there. The beautiful music is by Teri Eger, she makes amazing music and I'm a huge fan! You can check out her channel here- https://www.youtube.com/user/TeriHruskova
So thankful that she let me use it for this video. Do check it out and let me know if you like it or not.

1.5cup Whole wheat flour
1cup Powdered sugar
1/2 cup custurd powder/cornstarch
1/2 cup tutti frutti
5 tbsp milk
1/4cup chopped dry fruit(almond and raisin)
1 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp orange essence
1/2 tsp Vanilla essence
1/2 cup unsalted butter
Pinch of salt

In a bowl, add all your dry ingredients; whole wheat flour, milk powder(YUM!), custard powder/cornstarch, baking powder, pinch of salt.
Now sieve all of the ingredients to avoid lumps.
Now add tutti frooti and chopped dry fruits(almond and raisins).
Mix it well.
Now in a separate bowl, add butter(room temperature so it's soft) and beat it.
Add sifted powdered sugar to it.
Mix it till it's a very soft, smooth, and fluffy batter(and tasy ofcourse).
Now add vanilla essence and orange essence(for a zesty flavour) and mix it.
Add milk and mix it.

Now add all your dry ingredients, little by little.
Now mix it.
Now slowly, start kneeding the dough. But don't kneed it too much or else gluten starts developing which will harden your dough.

Now cover the dough with a plastic wrap and store it in the fridge for atleast half an hour.
It is very important to cool the dough as we have added butter to it which makes it hard to shape the cookies if not cooled.

After it has cooled, roll the dough with a rolling pin, keep the plastic wrap on.
Now remove the plastic wrap and spread some tutti fruiti on the top, and gently press it inside the dough with the rolling pin.

Now, before moving forward, preheat your oven.

Now take a cookie cutter (you can even use the top part of a glass) and press it against raw dough and cut the cookie dough with it. We are dipping(?) it in the raw dough so that the cookie dough doesn't stick.

Finally, bake it at 180°C for 15 minutes and then ENJOY!

Once they are cool, you can store them in any airtight container for atleast 1 week.
